Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 Official: Improved Camera, Larger Battery, Snapdragon 8 Gen 3
July 10, 2024 Andrew Cheng

The new Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 brings some notable upgrades compared to last year’s Z Flip 5. Not only does the new flip-style foldable phone come with an improved camera system, it also has a larger battery now with an enhanced version of Galaxy AI; similar to what the Z Fold 6 gets.

First, let’s talk about the hardware upgrades of the Galaxy Z Flip 6. As usual, it is powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, and it even comes with a new dual camera system made up of a 50MP primary shooter and a 12MP ultra-wide lens. It also gets a larger 4,000mAh battery, which should improve battery life.

Also new on the Galaxy Z Flip 6 is the improved FlexWindow cover screen. When you get a new message, for example, Suggested Replies will analyse your latest message (using AI, of course) to provide more contextual, nuanced replies. FlexWindow also gets more widgets now, so you won’t have to flip open the phone as much anymore; in theory, at least.

Rounding out the specifications of the Z Flip 6 are a 6.7-inch 2640 x 1080 Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with 120Hz adaptive refresh rate, a 3.4-inch 720 x 748 Super AMOLED cover screen (clocked at 60Hz), a 10MP selfie camera, as well as 12GB RAM as default.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 is now available for pre-order in Malaysia, but at the time of writing, we don’t have the local pricing of the foldable phone just yet. Rest assured, we will keep a close eye as and when Samsung Malaysia reveals the Malaysian pricing of the Z Flip 6.
