Mercedes-Benz Malaysia introduced three new AMG models on our shores today, and the headline car is none other than the Mercedes-AMG C63 S E Performance F1 Edition (try saying that fast three times). Powered by what Mercedes-Benz touts as the world’s most powerful production four-cylinder engine, this is certainly a fast PHEV.
Pricing wise, the C63 in the F1 Edition guise goes for a cool RM958,888 in Malaysia, and it comes with a 2.0L turbo engine mounted longitudinally at the front. Paired with a two-speed electric motor on the rear axle, offering a combined output of 680hp and 1,020Nm of torque, the PHEV can sprint from 0-100kmph in only 3.4 seconds. It also has an electronically-governed top speed of 280kmph.
Aside from that, the C63 features a 6.1kWh battery as well, which provides up to 11km of all-electric range. The PHEV can accept 3.7kW AC charging too, though the carmaker mentioned that the 89kg battery will usually be charged up when the car is on the move through energy regeneration.
Other features of the C63 include Formula 1 Edition decals, 20-inch AMG 10-spoke light-alloy wheels painted in matte black, red brake callipers, eight different AMG driving modes, black Nappa leather upholstery with red stitchings, and of course, red seat belts to complete the sporty appeal of the PHEV.
To recap, the Mercedes-AMG C63 S E Performance F1 Edition is priced at RM958,888 in Malaysia. If you want to see the PHEV in person, you can do so over at the Mercedes-Benz World showcase happening from 5 to 7 July at KL Base, Sungai Besi.
