Acer has quite an exciting lineup of products on showcase at Computex 2024. Among them is an Acer Swift laptop powered by the brand new AMD Ryzen AI 300 series of processors, which is set to be released sometime in Q3 2024.
Unfortunately, no other details were given beyond that, though the laptop on display at Acer’s booth in Computex 2024 looks to be the Swift 14 AI. The public is not allowed to touch the laptop, so we can’t say for sure what are the other specifications of the AMD-powered machine.
Nonetheless, the Ryzen AI 300 processors are quite interesting. Based on the chipmaker’s Zen 5 CPU architecture, the new processors feature AMD XDNA 2 technology as well, providing 50+ NPU TOPS of AI processing performance. This allows users to “deploy AI capabilities locally and run generative AI applications, large language models, and AI assistants” on a Swift laptop, as Acer puts it.
We can expect Acer to release Swift laptops powered by the new AMD Ryzen AI 300 series processors sometime in Q3 2024. The AMD-powered laptops should be made available in Malaysia too, given the Taiwanese company’s prominent presence on our shores.
