Monster Hunter Wilds Gets First Gameplay Trailer – Coming to PS5, PC, Xbox in 2025
May 31, 2024 Andrew Cheng

Monster Hunter Wilds just got its first gameplay trailer at PlayStation’s State of Play event earlier this morning, and it looks quite a bit different from previous games in the hugely popular franchise. Not only is it in an open world setting now, it seems to feature a rather elaborate storyline as well.

The three-minute trailer showcases some new gameplay elements of Monster Hunter Wilds; most notably, a new mount called Seikret. Not only can players summon the mount to get away from a monster in the middle of battle, it can also store an extra weapon, allowing players to switch between two weapons in the middle of a hunt.

Of course, new weapon attacks will also be introduced in Monster Hunter Wilds. All 14 different weapons will get new action features and moves, and there’s even a new Focus Mode that allows players to aim their attacks and guard. Special attacks can be performed in Focus Mode too, which does sound quite interesting.

Set to be released sometime in 2025, Monster Hunter Wilds will be available on PS5, PC via Steam, as well as Xbox Series X and Series S. Players who have an existing save data from Monster Hunter: World and the Iceborne expansion can also receive “familiar Palico equipment” in the game at release.
