Asus is set to release a semi-successor to the original ROG Ally dubbed ROG Ally X on 2 June 2024 next month. Ahead of the handheld gaming PC’s release, plenty of rumours and leaks surrounding the Ally X have popped up, including a supposed battery life of up to eight hours.
This information comes from leaker Arsène Lupin on X. The improved battery life makes sense, given that the ROG Ally X does feature a thicker, new design – as pointed out by The Verge – with more heft to it. Aside from battery life, Lupin also mentioned that the Ally X will retail at $799, which comes up to about RM3,740.
Other rumoured specifications of the ROG Ally X include the very same AMD Ryzen Z1 Extreme chip found on the current ROG Ally, up to 24GB of LPDDR5X RAM with a 1TB SSD, a 7-inch 1080p display with a 120Hz refresh rate, and a new black colour option.
The ROG Ally X will make its debut early next month on 2 June. If the rumours and leaks turn out to be accurate, the upcoming handheld gaming PC is shaping up to be quite an exciting product. After all, battery life is one of the biggest shortcomings of the original Ally.
