May 6, 2024 Andrew Cheng

Introduced in China just last month, Huawei Malaysia opened pre-orders for its latest flagship smartphones, the Huawei Pura 70 series. For the Malaysian market, we’re getting three of the four devices in the lineup, including the standard Pura 70, the Pura 70 Pro, and the highest-end Pura 70 Ultra with a retractable camera system.

As the range-topping model of the series, the Pura 70 Ultra costs a cool RM6,599 in Malaysia. A tier down is the Pura 70 Pro for RM4,899, followed by the base Pura 70 with a RM3,699 price tag. Early birds who purchase the phone by 24 May can also get freebies worth over RM2,000.

One of the highlight features of the Pura 70 Pro is the aforementioned retractable triple camera system made up of a 50MP primary sensor, a40MP ultra-wide shooter, and a 50MP telephoto lens. It also has a 13MP selfie camera, a 6.8-inch 2844 x 1260 OLED display with 120Hz adaptive refresh rate, a 5,200mAh battery, as well as an IP68 rating.

Next, we have the Pura 70 Pro. It has the same 6.8-inch 2844 x 1260 OLED panel as the Ultra model, along with a different triple camera system (50MP primary + 12.5MP ultra-wide + 48MP telephoto), 5,020mAh battery, and IP68 rating.

Last but not least is the most affordable phone in the lineup, the standard Pura 70. It comes with a 6.6-inch 2760 x 1256 OLED panel with 120Hz adaptive refresh rate, a triple camera system (50MP primary + 13MP ultra-wide + 12MP telephoto), a 13MP selfie camera, a 4,900mAh battery, and an IP68 rating.

Curiously, the Pura 70 is the only device to be powered by the Kirin 9000S1 processor; the Pura 70 Pro and Pura 70 Ultra feature a Kirin 9010 chip instead.

The Huawei Pura 70, Pura 70 Pro, and Pura 70 Ultra are now available for pre-order in Malaysia through Huawei’s official website and selected Huawei Experience Stores. To recap, the devices retail at RM3,699, RM4,899, and RM6,599 respectively.
