It seems Proton is maintaining its sales momentum in April 2024 last month with 11,025 units sold. The Proton S70 also continues to be the best-selling C-segment sedan in Malaysia, while the Proton X50 regains its top spot in the B-segment SUV market.
In April 2024 alone, over 1,635 units of the S70 were delivered for a total of 7,463 orders fulfilled. Back in February this year, Proton revealed that it had received 8,000 bookings of the sedan at the time, so it looks like the national carmaker is well on its way to fulfill the outstanding orders.
As for the X50, 1,642 units were sold in April 2024, returning it to the top of the B-segment SUV market for the month. Of course, the Saga remains Proton’s best-selling model last month with 5,031 units sold for a total of 23,278 orders fulfilled so far in 2024.
“The slowdown in automotive sales in April, where TIV shrank by 16.8% compared to March 2024, can be attributed to the long holiday period as OEMs, dealerships and other members of the local automotive ecosystem took time off to celebrate Hari Raya Aidilfitri,” said the CEO of Proton Edar, Roslan Abdullah.
“However, the sustained demand for Proton models is further bolstered by ongoing efforts in quality improvement with better Global Customer Product Audit (GCPA) scores since 2019, instilling greater confidence among drivers,” he added.
