It looks like Lotus Cars Malaysia has opened bookings for its latest EV, the Lotus Emeya. Built on the same platform as the Lotus Eletre electric hyper SUV, The four-door grand tourer is set to be launched on our shores sometime in Q3 2024, with local deliveries starting in Q4 2024, as reported by Paultan.org.
In terms of pricing, the Emeya is estimated to start at RM650,000 in Malaysia. Two variants are expected to be offered here: there’s the base Emeya S, and the more powerful Emeya R. Both models can do 350kW DC charging, allowing the 102kWh battery to be charged from 10% to 80% in only 18 minutes. As for AC charging, the Emeya can pull 22kW of power, yielding a 0-100% charge in 5.8 hours.
What sets the two variants of the Emeya apart are performance and range. The range-topping Emeya R, for one, has a 918PS/985Nm powertrain that allows it to sprint from 0-100kmph in only 2.78 seconds. With a top speed of 256kmph, it also has a range of up to 485km as measured on the stringent WLTP cycle.
As for the Emeya S, it can produce 612PS and 710Nm of torque for a 0-100kmph time of 4.15 seconds with a top speed of 250kmph; still very respectable figures. Given that it’s not quite as high-powered as the top-end Emeya R, the Emeya S has a higher WLTP range of up to 610km.
Bookings for the Lotus Emeya in Malaysia can now be done at the Lotus showroom in Pavilion Damansara Heights. Alternatively, buyers can also in touch with Lotus Cars Malaysia at +6016-611 2388. To recap, the Emeya is expected to be launched here in Q3 2024 with an estimated starting price of RM650,000.
