After numerous leaks, the Tesla Model 3 Performance is finally here, and Malaysia is one of the first markets to get the new high performance electric sedan. With a 0-100kmph time of only 3.1 seconds, this is one of the fastest EVs you can get at this price point.
For the Malaysian market, the Model 3 Performance starts at RM242,000. For that kind of money, the EV features a combined output of 460hp to achieve the aforementioned 3.1 seconds century sprint. Compared to other variants of the Model 3, the Performance trim comes with redesigned front and rear fascias too, not to mention new adaptive suspension for improved body control.
Of course, given all of the power under the hood, the Model 3 Performance’s range isn’t quite as good as the Long Range AWD variant. While the Long Range can go up to 629km on a single charge – measured on the stringent WLTP cycle – the Performance has a range of up to 528km instead. That is still a good amount of range, in our opinion.
Other specifications of the Tesla Model 3 Performance include sport seats, rather sleek-looking 20-inch alloy wheels, as well as Track Mode V3, which allows the driver to customise handling balance, stability controls, and regenerative braking. There are also the usual add-ons for the new EV, such as Enhanced Autopilot for RM16,000, or Full Self-Driving Capability for RM32,000.
The Tesla Model 3 Performance is now available for order in Malaysia with a RM242,000 starting price. Deliveries are expected to start within Q2 2024 itself, so you can get the EV by June 2024. Again, that means Malaysia is one of the earliest to get the new Model 3 Performance.
