Honda Malaysia just opened bookings for its facelifted B-segment hatchback, the Honda City Hatchback. Set to be launched on our shores sometime in Q2 2024, the Honda Sensing ADAS is also now standard across all variants of the City Hatchback.
Of course, the highest-end e:HEV RS model of the City Hatchback does get a more complete ADAS system. It is the only variant to get Low Speed Follow (LSF), which should come in handy when you’re stuck in heavy traffic. Beyond that, the facelift has updated stylings as well; the model pictured here is the aforementioned e:HEV RS version.
Not only does the facelifted City Hatchback in e:HEV RS form has a honeycomb grille now, it also has new 16-inch alloy wheels in Berlina Black. Of course, given that this is a facelift model, powertrain options remain the same. The hybrid RS model has a Multi-Mode Drive (i-MMD) powertrain that delivers 109PS and 253Nm of torque out of an electric motor, while the petrol models soldier on with the 1.5L DOHC i-VTEC engine (121PS/145Nm) paired to a CVT.
“Back in 2021, Honda Malaysia created a milestone by introducing the City in Hatchback body type for the first time. This model gained instant popularity with its eye-catching design, advanced technology and practicality,” said the MD and CEO of Honda Malaysia, Hironobu Yoshimura.
“From city streets to open highways, this energetic hatchback has captured hearts since its 2021 debut, surpassing 28,700 units in sales and confirming its status as Malaysia’s ultimate hatchback sensation,” he added.
To recap, the facelifted Honda City Hatchback is now available for booking in Malaysia, though no pricing details have been revealed. We’ll find out just how much the B-segment hatchback will cost once it is launched here sometime in Q2 2024.
