Acer is adding more 14-inch gaming laptops to its portfolio. The Taiwanese company recently unveiled the Predator Helios Neo 14 and the Acer Nitro 14, both of which are compact gaming laptops powered by the latest Intel Core Ultra and AMD Ryzen 8040 chips respectively. Aside from that, the Acer Nitro 16 has also been updated with the new Ryzen chips and 14th gen Intel processors.

Predator Helios Neo 14

Of the three laptops here, the Helios Neo 14 is arguably the most interesting machine. It can be configured with an Intel Core Ultra 9 185H processor with “AI acceleration capabilities,” along with an Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 GPU. In the display department, the highest-end option is a 14.5-inch 3072 x 1920 panel clocked at 165Hz with Nvidia G-Sync compatibility.

As for availability, the Predator Helios Neo 14 will be first available in North America sometime in May 2024 with a $1,799 starting price; that comes up to about RM8,580.

Acer Nitro 14

Next, we have the equally compact Nitro 14. The range-topping variant of this gaming laptop features a Ryzen 7 8845HS processor, an RTX 4060 GPU, as well as a 14.5-inch 2560 x 1600 display with a 120Hz refresh rate. A more modest list of hardware compared to the Predator Helios Neo 14.

But that also means the Acer Nitro 14 is a more affordable gaming laptop; it starts at $1,299 (about RM6,195) once it is available in North America sometime in May 2024, much like the Helios Neo 14.

Acer Nitro 16

Last but not least is the updated Nitro 16. Unlike the other two gaming laptops, this machine is configurable with either an AMD Ryzen 8040 or 14th gen Intel chip, such as an AMD Ryzen 9 8945HS or Intel Core i7-14700HX processor.

Besides that, the Nitro 16 also has an RTX 4060 GPU, a 16-inch 2560 x 1600 display with a 165Hz refresh rate, and a $1,399 (around RM6,670) starting price. It is set to be offered in North America first sometime in May 2024.

Malaysian availability of these Acer gaming laptops has not been revealed yet, though we reckon Acer Malaysia will be bringing in at least a couple of these machines. After all, the company has quite a large presence on our shores.
