GWM Malaysia has just launched the ORA 07 on our shores! Touted as an electric coupe, this is the brand’s second EV to be sold here, and it’s quite a bit more powerful than the ORA Good Cat while maintaining a similar design language.

Two variants of the ORA 07 are offered for the Malaysian market. The base Long Range Ultra model is priced at RM169,800, while the faster Performance model goes for RM189,800. Several freebies will also be given to the first 500 customers, including a complimentary wallbox charger and a RM3,000 loyalty offer.

As its name suggests, the Long Range Ultra variant of the ORA 07 is the model with the longest range; it can go up to 640km on a single charge, though this is measured using the more lenient NEDC cycle. Aside from that, it also has a single electric motor driving the front wheels, producing 204PS and 340Nm of torque.

The higher-end Performance trim of the ORA 07, on the other hand, has a dual motor setup that outputs 408PS and 680Nm of torque, allowing it to sprint from 0-100kmph in only 4.3 seconds. Given that it’s a more powerful model, it also has a lower range of up to 550km (NEDC) from the same 83.5kWh battery as the base Long Range Ultra variant.

In terms of charging speeds, the ORA 07 can do 88kW DC charging, which is able to charge up the battery from 30% to 80% in 32 minutes. As for AC charging, it can pull 11kW of power, charging the battery from empty to 100% in 15 hours.

The ORA 07 is now available for booking in Malaysia through GWM authorised dealerships nationwide for RM169,800 and RM189,800 for the Long Range Ultra and Performance variants respectively.
