Spy Shot: Proton X70 MC2 Facelift Spotted Again – Launching After Hari Raya?
April 1, 2024 Andrew Cheng

It looks like Proton is still hard at work testing the Proton X70 MC2 facelift on local roads. The upcoming C-segment SUV has been spotted yet again, giving us a closer look at the new grille, headlights, and even the wheel design.

These images of the (still heavily camouflaged) X70 were taken on the PLUS highway and shared by The Ajerul on Facebook. Although we’ve seen the new grille and headlights of the SUV in previous spy shots, this is our best look yet at the wheel design completely undisguised.

Many believe that the upcoming X70 MC2 facelift will be based on the 2022 Boyue, which features a redesigned front end for a sleeker, more modern-looking aesthetic. The rear end of the SUV, however, looks to be relatively untouched in its current form.

Beyond the updated exterior, the facelifted X70 is said to feature a new interior too, which we reckon will (again) take cues from the Boyue facelift. If this is indeed the case, it’ll feature a bigger, more modern-looking infotainment screen. There should be some changes to the overall dashboard design too, as you can see below.

According to The Ajerul, the Proton X70 MC2 facelift could be launched after Hari Raya, which is happening next week. Beyond the X70, the smaller Proton X50 is also expected to receive a facelift sometime this year.
