Samsung just revealed the Malaysian pricing of its latest mid-range smartphones, the Samsung Galaxy A55 and Samsung Galaxy A35. Retailing from RM1,699, the series sees a slight price hike in Malaysia; a RM100 price increase across the range, to be specific.
Of course, the RM1,699 starting price is for the more affordable Galaxy A35, which is offered in the sole 8GB RAM and 256GB storage configuration. As for the higher-end Galaxy A55, it’s also offered in only one model (12GB + 256GB) for RM1,999.
Both the Galaxy A55 and Galaxy A35 look to retain the Galaxy A’s design language, though there are some notable upgrades here, including Knox Vault to protect against software and hardware attacks. Hardware wise, the A55 features a triple camera system (50MP main + 12MP ultra-wide + 5MP macro), a 32MP selfie camera, a Samsung Exynos 1480 chipset, a 6.6-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, and a 5,000mAh battery.
As for the more affordable Galaxy A35, it features the same display as the A55, though it has a different Exynos 1380 chip; the same one used in last year’s Galaxy A54. It also has a triple camera setup (50MP main + 8MP ultra-wide + 5MP macro), a 13MP selfie camera, as well as a 5,000mAh battery.
The Samsung Galaxy A55 and Samsung Galaxy A35 are now available for purchase in Malaysia from selected retailers for RM1,999 and RM1,699 respectively; it will be more widely available from 22 March onwards. Early birds can also get up to RM828 worth of freebies, depending on which device that is purchased.
