vivo just launched a new budget-friendly phone in Malaysia, the vivo Y100. Sporting a rather unique leather design – for the Purple Leather model only, of course – it’s quite an eye-catching device. On top of that, it’s also one of the first Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 phones in Malaysia.

For the Malaysian market, only one configuration of the Y100 is offered. Sporting 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage, the phone is priced at RM1,199. Those who purchase the phone by 28 March will receive free gifts worth up to RM298 as well, including vivo Selection earbuds and vivo Care 1+1 extended warranty.

Of course, the leather back of the Y100 is one of its most eye-catching design elements, which is the model you see here. If you want something more minimalist, there’s the Crystal Black colour option. Aside from that, the Y100 comes with a 6.67-inch 2400 x 1080 AMOLED display too with a fast 120Hz refresh rate and 1,800 nits peak brightness.

Other specifications of the Y100 include the aforementioned Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chipset, a dual camera system (50MP main + 8MP ultra-wide) with a flicker sensor, an 8MP selfie camera, IP54 dust and water resistance, a 5,000mAh battery with 80W fast charging, as well as Funtouch OS 14 based on Android 14 out of the box.
