Petronas-owned Gentari, through its subsidiary Gentari Green Mobility, recently launched the Gentari Go app. Not only can the app be used for EV charging across several countries in Southeast Asia – including Malaysia, of course – it even offers home charging solutions and EV rental services.
Before the launch of the Gentari Go App, charging stations operated by Gentari were accessible through Setel, JomCharge, and ChargEV through a roaming arrangement. With the launch of the Gentari Go app, users can now use this app for their EV charging needs. Of course, the current roaming arrangement will still remain in place.

Aside from that, the Gentari Go app also has a map of available EV chargers. Plus, through Gentari’s partnerships with regional charging point operators (CPOs) such as CDG Engie, City Energy Go, and EVolt, the Gentari Go app supports cross-border EV charging with access to over 2,000 chargers in Malaysia, Singapore, and Thailand. There are plans to expand the feature to Indonesia and India as well.
As for EV rentals on the Gentari Go app, it is enabled with a partnership between Gentari and GoCar. Those who want to get an EV home charger can also do so through the app, and there’s even an option to register interest for Gentari’s own home solar solutions.

The Gentari Go app is now available for download on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. To celebrate the launch of the new app, users can get a 10% discount on their next 10 charging transactions at all Gentari charging points throughout Malaysia for a limited time. More details on Gentari Go can be found on its official website.
