Xiaomi 14 & Xiaomi 14 Ultra Unveiled at MWC 2024 – Leica Camera, Snapdragon 8 Gen 3
February 26, 2024 Andrew Cheng

Xiaomi just introduced its latest flagship smartphone lineup for the global market at MWC 2024. Naturally, the Xiaomi 14 series – made up of the Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 14 Ultra – feature the usual Leica camera system along with the latest hardware.

As the range-topping device in the series, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra features the best hardware, including a sophisticated quad camera system. The 50MP main camera with variable aperture has been updated with a new 1-inch type sensor, while the other three 50MP sensors remain the same, including a 3.2x telephoto shooter, a 5x telephoto lens, and an ultra-wide angle camera with macro support.

Rounding out the specifications of the Xiaomi 14 Ultra are a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, a 6.73-inch 3200 x 1440 OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate – now with a brighter peak brightness of 3,000 nits – and a generous 5,300mAh battery that can do 90W wired charging; 80W for wireless charging.

As for the more affordable Xiaomi 14, it has a more modest set of hardware, though it is unmistakably still a high-end phone. It comes with a triple camera system (50MP main + 50MP telephoto + 50MP ultra-wide), a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, a 6.36-inch 2670 x 1200 OLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate, as well as a 4,610mAh battery with 90W fast charging (50W wireless).

While there’s no confirmation yet that the Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 14 Ultra will be available in Malaysia, they should be launched here in due time. After all, Xiaomi has a large presence in our local market, and it has consistently brought in its latest flagship smartphones to Malaysia.
