Honor Magic 6 Pro Makes Global Debut – AI Eye-Tracking, Magic Capsule, Snapdragon 8 Gen 3
February 26, 2024 Andrew Cheng

MWC 2024 is upon us, and one of the first phones to be introduced at the trade show is the Honor Magic 6 Pro. This marks the global debut of the flagship phone, and it features the latest hardware, AI eye-tracking, and a notch at top of the screen dubbed Magic Capsule – not unlike Apple’s Dynamic Island.

Let’s start with the Magic 6 Pro’s Magic Capsule, which is quite intriguing. According to Honor, users can just tap on the notification banner to expand the notch, giving users more details and options. Sometime in the future, the Magic 6 Pro will support AI eye-tracking as well, which allows users to just look at a notification from a specific app to open said app; certainly a curious feature.

The camera system of the Magic 6 Pro is highlighted by Honor quite a bit as well. The rear camera system is made up of a 50MP main camera with variable aperture (f/1.4 to f/2.0), a 50MP ultra-wide sensor, and a 180MP periscope telephoto lens that can do 2.5x optical zoom.

Other specifications of the Magic 6 Pro include a 6.8-inch 2800 x 1280 OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, a generous 5,600mAh battery with support for 80W wired charging (66W wirelessly), as well as an IP68 rating.

For European markets, the Honor Magic 6 Pro is priced at 1,299 euro (about RM6,720) for the 12GB/512GB configuration. No official confirmation yet on the Malaysian availability of the flagship phone, but given that its predecessor (Magic 5 Pro) is sold here, we reckon it’s only a matter of time before the Magic 6 Pro makes its debut on our shores.
