Apple’s Swift Student Challenge Registration Now Open Until 25 February 2024
February 6, 2024 Andrew Cheng

Registration for Apple’s Swift Student Challenge is now open until 25 February 2024! First started in 2020, students can participate in the challenge to create apps using Swift, a programming language developed by Apple itself.

For this year’s Swift Student Challenge, Apple will be introducing a new category dubbed Distinguished Winners, which will include 50 standout submissions. The 50 Distinguished Winners will even be invited to Apple’s headquarters in Cupertino, California to connect with each other and the Apple team.

Of course, the Swift Student Challenge does have eligibility requirements that have to be met. For one, participants cannot be currently employed as professional developers, and they have to be enrolled in an accredited academic institution. The full list of criteria can be found on Apple’s dedicated eligibility page for the Swift Student Challenge.

Aside from that, students can also make use of various learning resources to brush up their coding skills. Tools such as Swift Playgrounds and Xcode are available, and there’s even a three-minute video instruction on how students can build their app playground.

To recap, registration for Apple’s Swift Student Challenge is now open until 25 February 2024 right here. 350 winners will be chosen – including the 50 Distinguished Winners – and all of them will receive a one-year membership in the Apple Developer Program, a complimentary voucher to take an App Development with Swift certification exam, and even a special gift from Apple.
