Back in 2020, the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) added over 425 units of the 10th gen Honda Civic 1.8L S to its fleet. Fast forward to today, it appears the PDRM is also getting the latest 11th gen Civic; we spotted one such patrol car earlier today in Kuala Lumpur.
Unfortunately, as we were driving, we couldn’t take any picture of the new PDRM Civic car; we wouldn’t want to be breaking the law. Thankfully, Syafiq Zulfakar shared a picture of several units of the PDRM Civic on a transport truck in the Paultan.org Automotive/Car Discussion Group on Facebook, which looks identical to the car we saw earlier today.
Looking at the Civic in question, it seems to be the base 1.5L E variant of the C-segment sedan. Not only does it feature a 1.5L turbo engine that outputs 182PS and 240Nm of torque paired to a CVT, it also comes with the Honda Sensing suite of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS).
Currently, four different variants of the 11th gen Civic are available in Malaysia. These include the aforementioned base E model for RM131,900, going up to RM144,900 and RM151,900 for the mid-tier V and range-topping RS variants respectively. As for the e:HEV RS hybrid model, it is priced at RM167,900.
According to Honda Malaysia, the 11th gen Honda Civic was the best-selling C-segment sedan locally in 2023, so it’s evident that the car remains a popular option on our shores. It’s also worth noting that the Civic is discounted by up to RM5,000 right now as part of Honda Malaysia’s February 2024 promo.
