Genshin Impact 4.4 Arrives 31 January – New Area, Characters, Outfits for Ganyu, Shenhe, Xingqiu
January 22, 2024 Andrew Cheng

Genshin Impact 4.4 is set to go live next week on 31 January, which sees the return of the annual Lantern Rite festival and a slew of new content. Not only are we getting a new area in Liyue (dubbed Chenyu Vale), the update will also add two new playable characters and new outfits for Ganyu, Shenhe, and Xingqiu.

As expected, the two new playable characters that will be introduced in Genshin Impact 4.4 are Xianyun – the human form of the Adeptus Cloud Retainer – and Gaming. Xianyun is a 5-star Anemo catalyst wielder, while Gaming is a 4-star Pyro character that uses a claymore.

Both Xianyun and Gaming will be featured in the first phase of Version 4.4’s Event Wishes alongside Nahida, while the second phase will see the return of Xiao’s and Yae Miko’s banners.

Beyond that, three characters will also get new outfits. Ganyu’s and Shenhe’s outfits – which look to be inspired by the Lantern Rite festival – will be offered through the in-game store at a discount for a limited time. Xingqiu’s outfit, on the other hand, can be obtained from the in-game event.

Speaking of which, Genshin Impact 4.4’s in-game event looks to be focused on the aforementioned Lantern Rite festival. Aside from the Xingqiu outfit, players can also get a total of 13 Intertwined Fates and a free 4-star Liyue character from the event.

The Version 4.4 update of Genshin Impact will go live next week on 31 January. Xianyun and Gaming will be featured in the first phase of 4.4’s Event Wishes, followed by Xiao’s and Yae Miko’s reruns in the second phase.
