Vivo just launched its latest high-end smartphone lineup in Malaysia, the Vivo X100 series. Made up of the standard Vivo X100 and the higher-end Vivo X100 Pro, both phones feature a Zeiss triple camera system and a flagship-class MediaTek Dimensity 9300 chipset.

First, prices. For the Malaysian market, the X100 (16GB + 512GB) retails at RM3,499, while the range-topping X100 Pro (16GB + 512GB) goes for RM4,599. Two colour options are available for the two phones: Startrail Blue and Asteroid Black.

At a glance, both the X100 and X100 Pro look quite similar to each other, and they share some key hardware too. These include the aforementioned MediaTek Dimensity 9300 chipset, a 6.78-inch 2800 x 1260 AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, a 32MP selfie camera, as well as an IP68 rating.

But there are two key areas where the two phones are differentiated: camera hardware and battery capacity. The X100 Pro, for one, has a 5,400mAh battery and a more sophisticated triple camera system made up of a 50MP Zeiss 1-inch primary sensor, a 50MP Zeiss APO floating telephoto lens, and a 50MP ultra-wide shooter.

As for the X100, it also has a triple camera array, though it consists of a 50MP VCS main sensor, a 64MP Zeiss telephoto lens, and a 50MP ultra-wide camera. It also features a slightly smaller 5,000mAh battery.

The Vivo X100 and Vivo X100 Pro are now available for pre-order in Malaysia. To recap, the X100 is priced at RM3,499, while the X100 Pro goes for RM4,599. Several freebies are also offered for those who pre-order either phones. The X100 comes with a Vivo TWS Air wireless earbuds (worth RM179), while the X100 Pro is bundled with a Vivo TWS 2e earbuds and a Vivo Selection smartwatch worth RM568 in total.
