Acer Unveils 2 New Laptops Powered by Intel Core Ultra Chips – Coming to Malaysia
December 15, 2023 Andrew Cheng

Acer just unveiled two new laptops powered by Intel’s equally new Intel Core Ultra chips. There’s the sleek Acer Predator Triton Neo 16 gaming laptop, as well as the productivity-focused Acer Swift Go 14. As the two laptops are powered by Intel’s new Ultra chips, they feature some AI smarts.

Let’s start with the Predator Triton Neo 16. The maxed out configuration has some high-end hardware, including Intel Core Ultra H series processors, a 16-inch “Calman-Verified” display (for accurate colour reproduction) with a 3.2K resolution and fast 165Hz refresh rate, as well as an Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 GPU.

As for the more affordable Swift Go 14, it comes with a Core Ultra 7 155H processor – yes, there is an actual space in between the model number – Intel Arc integrated GPU, a 2.8K or WUXGA 14-inch OLED panel with a 90Hz refresh rate, and up to 12.5 hours of battery life. The latter should be achievable with the new Intel chip.

Speaking of which, the Intel Core Ultra chip is part of the chipmaker’s Meteor Lake lineup. Not only does it promises improved power efficiency, it also has a dedicated neural processing unit (NPU) to accelerate AI-intensive tasks, such as background blurring and eye tracking.

The Acer Swift Go 14 will hit store shelves in North America sometime in January 2024 with a $800 starting price, which comes up to about RM3,735. The Acer Predator Triton Neo 16, on the other hand, will be offered later in March 2024 with a $1,500 starting price (approximately RM7,000).

Acer Malaysia confirmed with us that the two new laptops will be coming to our local market, though no specific release date was given.
