Gallery: Proton S70 Premium & Executive – Sub-RM80k C-Segment Sedans
November 28, 2023 Andrew Cheng

We’ve only seen the higher-end Flagship and Flagship X variants of the Proton S70 leading up to its launch today. Luckily for us, the more affordable Premium and Executive models of the C-segment sedan – as Proton is positioning the S70 – were on display at the launch event.

If you’re thinking about booking either the Premium or Executive variant of the S70, this gallery should be of help. Without further ado, let’s get to it!

Proton S70 Executive

As the most affordable variant, the Executive trim of the S70 does miss out on several creature comforts. For its interior, it has a smaller 8-inch infotainment screen, analogue meter instead of a digital one, a urethane steering wheel, and fabric seats.

On the outside, the Executive S70 features 16-inch alloy wheels – the higher-end Flagship and Flagship X models get larger 17-inch wheels – halogen headlights, and there is no light bar for the taillights. All in all, however, it still looks quite handsome, in our opinion.

Plus, it’s worth noting that the S70 Executive still has the same 1.5L turbo engine (150PS/226Nm) paired to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission as other variants of the sedan; all for RM73,800. Speaking of which, let’s move on to the Premium model now.

Proton S70 Premium

Moving up to the Premium S70, there are some nice upgrades. The steering wheel is now wrapped in leatherette with seats of the same material, anti-trap windows, rear centre armrest, and automatic air-conditioning. It still has the Executive’s analogue meter and 8-inch infotainment screen though.

Exterior wise, the Premium S70 does look more…well, premium. This is thanks to the addition of LED headlights (now automatic), the sleek light bar on the taillights, as well as auto folding side mirrors. The Executive’s 16-inch alloy wheels are carried over to the Premium too.

It’s worth noting that the Premium S70, which is priced at RM79,800, is one of the most booked variants of the sedan. Of the 1,200 bookings placed for the S70, the Premium trim makes up 40% of the figure. The other 40% is occupied by the Flagship, followed by the Flagship X at 20%.

And that is the Proton S70 in Executive and Premium trims! To recap, the sedan retails from RM73,800 for the Executive model, going up to RM79,800 for the Premium trim. The Flagship and Flagship X variants, on the other hand, are priced at RM89,800 and RM94,800 respectively.
