Sony Xperia 5 V Costs RM4,999 in Malaysia – Early Birds Get WF-1000XM5 for Free
November 20, 2023 Andrew Cheng

Officially introduced a couple of months ago, the Sony Xperia 5 V is now available for purchase in Malaysia. Compared to its predecessor, the Xperia 5 V features a larger sensor for the main camera, though it no longer comes with a telephoto shooter.

First spotted by Amanz, the Xperia 5 V is listed on Sony Malaysia’s online store for RM4,999. Early birds who purchase the phone by 31 December 2023 will also get a number of freebies, including the WF-1000XM5 (worth RM1,399), RM50 TNG eWallet credit, a tempered glass screen protector, and a clear casing.

Without a telephoto sensor now, the Xperia 5 V features a dual camera system made up of a 52MP main sensor and a 12MP ultra-wide shooter. But while it no longer has a zoom lens, the Xperia 5 V’s 52MP main camera with a larger 1/1.35″ Exmor T sensor is an improvement over the Xperia 5 IV’s 12MP primary shooter.

Other specifications of the Xperia 5 V include a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset paired with 8GB of RAM, a 6.1-inch 2520 x 1080 OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and wide 21:9 aspect ratio, a 12MP selfie camera, 256GB of internal storage, an IP65/IP68 rating, and a 5,000mAh battery.

To recap, the Xperia 5 V is now available for purchase in Malaysia for RM4,999. Given that early birds can get the phone bundled with the excellent WF-1000XM5 wireless earbuds, it’s quite a generous offer, though this deal is only valid until 31 December 2023.
