After some delay, Hoyoverse finally revealed the Genshin Impact 4.2 update. As expected, two playable characters – Furina and Charlotte – will be added to the game in the update, and it will also bring the climax to the main Fontaine storyline.

Both Furina and Charlotte – which are 5-star and 4-star characters respectively – will be featured in the same event wish once the Version 4.2 of Genshin Impact is live; Baizhu’s rerun banner will happen at the same time too. In the second phase of Version 4.2’s event wish, Cyno’s and Kamisato Ayato’s banners will return as well.

Besides the two new playable Fontaine characters, new bosses will also be added to Genshin Impact 4.2. There’s the All-Devouring Narwhal – which looks to be somewhat related to Tartaglia – accompanied by The Foul as a new weekly boss, as well as the Hydro Tulpa. More boss materials to farm for new characters, basically.

As per usual, a slew of in-game events will also take place in the Version 4.2 update of Genshin Impact. Freminet and Thelxie, a clockwork penguin, will appear in an event to investigate rumours of Water Imps in the new Erinnyes Forest area. Another new area is the Morte Region, and these two locations are said to offer underwater gameplay.

Genshin Impact 4.2 will arrive this Wednesday on 8 November. To recap, Furina’s and Charlotte’s banners will go live first once the update drops, followed by Cyno’s and Kamisato Ayato’s event wishes at a later date.
