SteelSeries needs no introduction in the PC peripheral market, and the company just brought in its first gaming microphones to the Malaysian market. Enter the SteelSeries Alias and SteelSeries Alias Pro, which are said to be the first microphones “truly designed for gaming.”

As its name suggests, the Alias is the more affordable microphone, priced at RM1,099 in Malaysia. For that kind of money, it offers a custom-built 1-inch condenser capsule – said to be three times the size of a standard microphone capsule – to “flawlessly capture each gamer’s voice,” along with gain control and a mute button on the microphone itself.

As for the higher-end Alias Pro, which goes for RM1,799 for our local market, it removes the onboard controls for a dedicated XLR Stream Mixer that features gain control, a mute button, and even a customisable dial. It also has a pre-amp, 48V phantom power for reduced noise and interference to deliver 24-bit/48kHz audio, as well as the same 1-inch condenser capsule as the standard Alias.

The SteelSeries Alias Pro is now available for purchase in Malaysia for RM1,799, while the more affordable RM1,099 SteelSeries Alias will make it here in early November 2023 next month. The gaming microphones will be offered through SteelSeries’ official stores on Shopee and Lazada.
