We are getting more and more spy shots of the Proton S70 completely undisguised as we approach closer to the Malaysian launch of the sedan in November next month. This time around, the S70 in a striking red colour (likely Proton’s Passion Red paint) has been spotted on a transport trailer.
The image below was shared by Muhammad Nabil in the Malaysia S50/S70 Community (MYS50/S70COM) Facebook group. Curiously, the S70 in the shot does not have the “S70” badge on the boot lid yet. Looking at the design of the wheels – quite a bit different than the ones found in a previous spy shot – there’s a good chance this is a higher-end variant of the sedan.

Based on previous rumours, four different variants of the S70 will supposedly be offered. All of them are said to be powered by either a 1.5L MPI turbo engine (150PS/226Nm) or a more powerful 1.5L TGDi turbo mill (177PS/255Nm); two turbocharged engines that are found in the X50 lineup. The sedan is rumoured to be sporting a large 12.3-inch full LCD meter as well.
The Proton S70 is largely believed – and pretty much confirmed by Proton’s own CEO – to be launched sometime in November 2023 next month. We’ll find out then the pricing and final name of the highly anticipated sedan, which has been previously referred to as the S50.
