Neta V Officially Launched – Cheapest EV in Malaysia From RM100k
October 25, 2023 ā€¢ Andrew Cheng

The Neta V EV first made its debut at the Malaysia Autoshow 2023 back in May this year, and today, the electric hatchback has finally been unveiled on our shores. Distributed by Intro Synergy, the Neta V retains the title as the most affordable EV in Malaysia, priced at RM100,000 on-the-road without insurance.

For that kind of money, the Neta V is offered with two (free) packages. The first one, dubbed EV Starter Package, bundles a home charger with installation included, a vehicle-to-load (V2L) adapter, a powered tailgate, window tinting, an air purifier, insurance, and even a body kit that is said to be exclusive to the Malaysian market.

As for the second option, it’s an interest-free hire purchase offered by a local bank for the Neta V with up to seven years of financing. While this certainly sounds enticing, this deal is subject to terms and conditions.

Package aside, the Neta V offers a range of up to 380km (following the NEDC standard) out of its 38.54kWh battery. The EV supports up to 100W DC fast charging too, which can juice up the battery from 30% to 80% in 30 minutes. With a slower 6.6kW AC home charger, it can be charged from empty to full in eight hours.

Performance wise, the Neta Vā€™s front-mounted electric motor outputs a modest 95PS and 160Nm of torque, allowing it to go from 0-50kmph in 3.9 seconds with a top speed of 120kmph. Safety wise, it features two airbags ā€“ yes, only two ā€“ ABS, EBD, ESC, and passive cruise control.

If you want to check out the Neta V, the EV will be showcased at Neta’s roadshow over at IOI City Mall, Putrajaya until 29 October. Priced at RM100,000, the Neta V competes directly with the BYD Dolphin – which is also better-equipped – that starts at RM100,530.
