Magic: The Gathering just announced a giant collaboration with Marvel for its Universes Beyond crossover products. It is said to be a multi-year, multi-set deal, so this is shaping up to be the collectable card game’s biggest collaboration yet.
That being said, it will be a while before we see any MTG products featuring Marvel’s iconic characters. “The first tentpole Magic set based on Marvel’s fan-favorite characters and epic stories will appear globally in 2025, with additional all-new exciting sets for multi-generational fans to collect and play,” the press release reads.
MTG’s Universes Beyond crossover products have proven to be popular among players. More recently, there are the Doctor Who Commander Decks and Collector Boosters, not to mention the epic The Lord of the Rings: Tales of Middle-earth set that saw the release of the 1/1 The One Ring that was eventually purchased by Post Malone.
Chances are, Magic: The Gathering’s collaboration with Marvel will catch the attention of even more players, new or old, given just how popular Marvel’s characters are. 2025 is set to be an exciting year for the collectable card game.
