It looks like we’re approaching ever closer to the Malaysian launch of the sixth generation Honda CR-V. A heavily camouflaged test mule of the C-segment SUV has been spotted on local roads yet again; this time around in the vicinity of Putrajaya.
These images of the new CR-V were taken by the folks over at Paultan.org. Despite the heavy camouflage, this is without a doubt the 2023 CR-V. The large hexagonal grille can be seen in the front end shot of the SUV below, and given that Honda Malaysia’s offerings here are mostly CKD models, it is likely that this is a locally assembled unit.
Honda Malaysia previously revealed that it will be launching three new models locally and one facelift update in 2023. Now that the WR-V and City facelift have made their respective debuts here, the sixth generation Honda CR-V should be launched in Malaysia very, very soon.
Of course, the kit and specifications of the 2023 CR-V for the Malaysian market still remain to be seen, though we reckon it won’t be too far off the Thailand-spec lineup. Two powertrain options are offered in the country: a 1.5L turbo engine with 192PS and 242Nm of torque, and an i-MMD powertrain with a combined output of 184PS and 335Nm of torque.
