Wise Card Also Supports Google Wallet in Malaysia Now
September 20, 2023 Andrew Cheng

Aside from Apple Pay, Wise Card can now be added to your Google Wallet too in Malaysia. According to Wise, it is the first non-bank entity in Malaysia to support the two payment options.

The Wise card, which was launched in Malaysia at the end of 2021, is a prepaid debit card. One of the most highlighted features of the card is the low conversion rates for spending in foreign currency. There’s no card subscription fee either, though you do have to pay RM13.70 to get the Wise card itself.

Anyway, once you’ve set up Google Wallet with a Wise card on your Android phone, you can start making payments at retailers that accept the payment method. Basically, if a particular retailer has a card terminal, Google Wallet – or in this case, Google Pay – should be supported.

To start using Google Wallet on your Android phone, you can download the app – if it’s not installed on your phone already – from the Google Play Store. Other cards that support Google Wallet in Malaysia now are selected cards issued by Public Bank, HSBC, Hong Leong Bank, and CIMB.
