Wise card can now be added to Apple Pay in Malaysia! Wise has updated its Apple Pay support page reflecting this, and to verify it for ourselves, we successfully added our own Wise Card to the convenient payment service.
The Wise card, which was launched in Malaysia at the end of 2021, is a prepaid debit card. One of the most highlighted features of the card is the low conversion rates for spending in foreign currency. There’s no card subscription fee either, though you do have to pay RM13.70 to get the Wise card itself.
To recap, Apple Pay makes it easier to make payments with a compatible Apple product, as it allows you to add your credit card or debit card to the service. Once you’ve set up Apple Pay on, say, your iPhone, you can use your phone to make payments at retailers that support the service.
If you’ve got a Wise card or any card issued by HSBC, Maybank, AmBank, or Standard Chartered in Malaysia, you can now add it to Apple Pay to start making payments with the service. If you’re not sure how to do that, here’s our guide on how to activate Apple Pay on an iPhone.
