PlayStation just held a State of Play presentation earlier today, and there a quite a number of noteworthy announcements. Not only did we get a slew of new game trailers – with a release date for the highly anticipated Final Fantasy VII Rebirth – there are some colourful new PS5 accessories too.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth

Yes, we finally know exactly when Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is coming! Set to be released next year on 29 February 2023 for the PS5, we get treated to a new trailer for the upcoming game. From familiar faces like Sephiroth to new synergy moves from the battle system, it’s shaping up to be quite an exciting follow-up to Final Fantasy VII Remake.

As previously revealed, Final Fantasy VII Remake is a three-part trilogy, so Rebirth is only the second instalment. We’ll have to wait for the third part to reach the conclusion of the series.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2

While we already know that Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will be released next month on 20 October 2023 – not too long now! – Insomniac Games gave us a more detailed look at the expanded city of New York. It’s said to be nearly double the size of the city in the first game, so players will have plenty of area to explore once the game drops.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will be available exclusively on the PS5.

New Colourways for PS5 Accessories

Finally, we have some new colourways for a range of PS5 accessories. Dubbed Deep Earth Collection, the new colours have a metallic sheen to them in three shades: Volcanic Red, Cobalt Blue, and Sterling Silver. These three new colours will be offered for the DualSense controller and PS5 console cover at RM369 and RM259 respectively.

Of the three colours, the Volcanic Red and Cobalt Blue accessories will be available first on 3 November, while the Sterling Silver models will arrive later on 26 January 2024. It remains to be seen if the Malaysian market will also receive these new colourways on the same dates.
