Launched earlier this year in CBU form, the Mercedes-Benz GLC 300 4Matic is now locally-assembled here in Malaysia; more specifically, at the brand’s production facility in Pekan, Pahang. Naturally, the CKD version of the SUV sees quite a big RM51,000 price drop.

This brings down the price of the GLC 300 4Matic in CKD to RM378,888 on-the-road without insurance. Not only is it more affordable, the locally-assembled version even gets two additional features: panoramic sliding sunroof and Handsfree Access. The latter is essentially a foot sensor-activated automatic tailgate.

Powertrain of the GLC 300 4Matic in CKD form remains the same: it’s still powered by a 2.0L four-cylinder turbo engine paired with a 48V mild hybrid system that outputs 255hp and 400Nm of torque. It is mated to a 9G-Tronic nine-speed automatic transmission, sending drive to all four wheels through the 4Matic AWD system.

“With over 12,000 units sold since 2016, the GLC maintains its status as Mercedes-Benz’s best-selling SUV in Malaysia, offering a harmonious blend of luxury, versatility, and driving pleasure,” said the Vice President of sales and marketing at Mercedes-Benz Cars Malaysia and SEA II, Bettina Plangger.

“The introduction of the locally-assembled GLC marks a significant milestone in our journey, reaffirming our unwavering commitment to delivering uncompromised quality to our valued customers in Malaysia. This development is a testament to our customer-centric approach, as we continually strive to provide our valued customers with the best possible experiences,” she added.

The Mercedes-Benz GLC 300 4Matic can now be booked in Malaysia for RM378,888. More details on the premium SUV can be found here.
