PlayStation will be increasing the price of its 12-month subscription to PlayStation Plus next week on 6 September, including for us in Malaysia. Depending on which tier you want to get, the price increase is between RM76 to RM151.

It’s worth noting that this price increase is only applicable to the 12-month plans of PlayStation Plus for all three tiers, which are Essential, Extra, and Deluxe. Here is a table for easy reference between the new and old prices – the difference is quite substantial, especially for the higher plans.

Do note that despite the price revision, it is still more cost-effective to get the 12-month subscription of PlayStation Plus rather than the 1-month or 3-month plan. As mentioned, the prices for the latter two membership periods are actually unchanged from the current prices.

These new prices for the PlayStation Plus 12-month membership tiers will go into effect next week on 6 September 2023. Do note that if you have an active 12-month plan right now, you will only be charged the new rates if your renewal happens on or after 6 November 2023 instead.
