As one of the official vehicle brands for the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou, China, Proton is holding the Asian Games, Nation Drive media drive throughout Malaysia. We were invited to the third round of the drive to the southern peninsular states of Malaysia – more specifically, Malacca and Pahang.

The media drive gave us the opportunity to test out all three models in the Proton X series, which includes the X50, X70, and of course, the all-new X90. We will be a doing a quick review of the three SUVs in a video very soon, so stay tuned for that.

At the end of each media drive, Proton will be donating several “treasures of Malaysia,” as the carmaker puts it, to the Asian Games Museum in Hangzhou. For our particular leg of the drive, the Kebaya Nyonya and Tenun Pahang were presented by Dato’ Mirnawan bin Datuk Hj Nawawi, former Malaysian hockey player who scored 250 career goals.

The fourth and last round of Proton’s Asian Games, Nation Drive event will be held in Perak, representing the northern peninsular state of Malaysia. Previously, the carmaker already did a media drive in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah; Kuching, Sarawak; and of course, our trip to Malacca and Pahang.
