At Gamescom 2023, Hoyoverse made a few announcements, including an update on the PlayStation 5 version of Honkai: Star Rail. Unfortunately, no specific launch date was given beyond the Q4 2023 estimate given previously, though the company will be doing a technical test recruitment for the console starting today on 23 August.

More specifically, the recruitment will begin at 10AM Malaysian time until 28 August. Those who signed up to be a part of the technical test will be rewarded with several in-game items depending on the number of registrations received. The rewards even include the 4-star The Seriousness of Breakfast light cone.

With this announcement, it is almost confirmed that there will be no PS4 version of Star Rail, unfortunately enough. Of course, this is only an educated guess on our part based on the details revealed by Hoyoverse thus far.

To recap, registration for Honkai: Star Rail’s PS5 technical test will end on 28 August at 10AM Malaysian time. As for the test itself, it will commence on 4 September at 10AM, and it’s worth noting that the test will be done in a live server environment, so you can continue your progress from other platforms.
