Xiaomi’s latest foldable phone has just been unveiled in China, and it looks to be the Chinese company’s most refined one yet. Not only is the Xiaomi MIX Fold 3 even thinner than its predecessor at 5.26mm slim (unfolded, of course), it also comes with a new Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 “Leading Version” chipset while retaining the same starting price.
Three different variants of the MIX Fold 3 are offered in China. The 12GB + 256GB base model retails at 8,999 Chinese yuan (about RM5,720), while the 16GB + 512GB configuration goes for 9,999 yuan (approximately RM6,360). As for the range-topping 16GB + 1TB variant, it is priced at 10,999 yuan (around RM6,995).

For that kind of money, the MIX Fold 3 features some impressive hardware. The aforementioned Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Leading Version, for one, is said to offer faster performance over the regular chip. Its folding mechanism is also said to be very durable; it is rated for a whopping 500,000 folds.
Other specifications of the MIX Fold 3 include a Leica-branded quad camera system (50MP primary + 12MP ultra-wide + 10MP telephoto + 10MP periscope telephoto), a 20MP selfie camera, an 8.025-inch 2160 x 1916 Eco² OLED Plus primary display with a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate, a 6.56-inch 1080p AMOLED cover screen (also 120Hz), and a 4,800mAh battery with 67W wired fast charging – 50W wireless.

Unfortunately, it is unlikely the Xiaomi MIX Fold 3 will be coming to Malaysia, just like its predecessors. Nonetheless, it is certainly an impressive foldable phone that could give its mainstream rivals a run for their money.
