At the launch of the new Honda City facelift, Honda Malaysia revealed some of its plans for the year, including its decision not to bring in the 2023 Honda Accord to our local market. With that in mind, it appears the current Accord – which was launched here back in 2020 – will continue to be sold here for the foreseeable future.
According to the MD and CEO of Honda Malaysia, Hironobu Yoshimura, the Japanese company is not bringing in the new Accord due to low demand in the D-segment market. Instead, it appears Honda is capitalising on the rising demand for SUVs instead, especially with the introduction of the WR-V last month.
On the bright side, at least the current Accord is discounted quite heavily right now. For this month, both the range-topping TC-P and more affordable TC models of the sedan receive a RM9,000 rebate. This brings down the starting price of the Accord to RM169,400.
Do note that this discount on the Accord is only applicable to vehicles that are registered between 1 to 31 August 2023, meaning you have to take delivery of the car within this month. More details on the promotion can be found on Honda Malaysia’s official website.
