2023 Honda City Facelift Launching in Malaysia 10 August
July 31, 2023 Andrew Cheng

The 2023 Honda City facelift is launching in Malaysia next week on 10 August! Set to be introduced not long after the WR-V’s debut a few weeks ago, the facelifted B-segment sedan is getting a number of notable upgrades, including a more sophisticated ADAS.

Not only does the City facelift come with a new front grille and updated bumper design – as shown here for the range-topping e:HEV RS model – its Honda Sensing ADAS capability is getting two new features too. These include Low Speed Follow (LSF) and Lead Car Departure Notification (LCDN).

Beyond that, the City e:HEV RS soldiers on with the same Multi-Mode Drive (i-MMD) hybrid powertrain that delivers 109PS and 253Nm of torque. The sedan also comes with a 1.5L four-cylinder engine that does 98PS and 127Nm of torque, but it mainly acts as a generator for the electric motor. The 1.5L mill is only used at higher speeds.

While only the City e:HEV RS has been confirmed so far, it’s safe to assume Honda Malaysia will continue to offer petrol variants of the City. Currently, these include the S, E, V, and V Sensing models, which are all powered by the same 1.5L DOHC i-VTEC engine that outputs 121PS and 145Nm of torque. It is paired to a CVT with drive sent to the front wheels.

We’ll find out more about the new Honda City facelift, including its local pricing, once it is launched in Malaysia next week on 10 August. The sedan is also available for booking now at all 101 authorised Honda dealerships nationwide. Alternatively, pre-booking can be done online here, or through the HondaTouch app – it can be downloaded from the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
