HP just launched a slew of new gaming laptops in Malaysia, including the HP Omen 16 and HP Omen Transcend 16. The latter is touted as the company’s slimmest and lightest gaming laptop yet, so naturally, it comes with a matching price tag.

Here in Malaysia, the Omen Transcend 16 retails from a cool RM10,999, and it will be available locally sometime in August next month. As for the Omen 16, it’s priced quite a bit lower with a RM6,899 starting price. Unfortunately, the base model of the two laptops for the Malaysian market were not detailed.

Nonetheless, we do have some key hardware of both laptops. The Omen Transcend 16, for one, can be configured with a fast 240Hz mini-LED screen along with a 13th gen Intel Core i7 or AMD Ryzen 9 processor, though the GPU was not mentioned. It’s also a relatively thin and light laptop with a 19.9mm chassis that tips the scales at 2.09kg.

As for the Omen 16, it’s offered with either a 13th gen Intel Core i9 or an AMD Ryzen 9 7000 series processor. As for the GPU, HP mentioned that the laptop can be gotten with an Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070; quite a capable GPU that should be able to run most AAA games effectively.

To recap, the HP Omen 16 is now available for purchase in Malaysia from RM6,899. As for the thinner and lighter HP Omen Transcend 16, it will arrive here slightly later in August next month with a RM10,999 starting price.
