In conjunction with World Emoji Day on 17 July, Apple is showcasing iOS 17’s new Contact Poster feature, which can also be customised to show your own Memoji. This feature was previewed just last month at WWDC 2023.
Basically, the Contact Poster you set for yourself will show up when you’re calling a synced contact who is also on iOS 17. You can choose a photo of yourself (or a Memoji) for your Contact Poster, and even set the font that displays your name, as shown below.
Apple is adding three new Memoji stickers in iOS 17 (Halo, Smirk, and Peekaboo) as well to further customise your Memoji. Also introduced in iOS 17 is the ability to peel and stick emoji stickers on messages, photos, documents, and more. Not a groundbreaking feature by any means, but certainly intriguing.
If you’re keen to give the public beta of iOS 17 a try, you can install it on a secondary device right here. The update will be released sometime in fall, likely coinciding with the introduction of Apple’s latest range of iPhones later this year.
