Introduced back in October 2020, the fifth generation Honda City has consistently been Honda Malaysia’s best-selling model. In fact, the national carmaker just announced that over 68,600 units of the current generation City have been sold in Malaysia.
This figure was revealed in a press release for the start of order taking for the new City facelift. “So far, more than 68,600 units of the 5th generation City have been sold since its launch, while in the first half of 2023, we have sold more than 10,000 units,” said the MD and CEO of Honda Malaysia, Hironobu Yoshimura. “Truly, this iconic Honda model has proven to be a favourite in its segment amongst Malaysians,” he added.

Set to be launched in Malaysia sometime in Q3 2023, the facelifted City – as least, for the range-topping e:HEV RS model – will feature a new front grille and updated bumper design. Its Honda Sensing ADAS capability gets two new features too: Low Speed Follow (LSF) and Lead Car Departure Notification (LCDN). Beyond that, the e:HEV RS variant soldiers on with the same Multi-Mode Drive (i-MMD) hybrid powertrain that delivers 109PS and 253Nm of torque.
The new Honda City facelift is open for booking now at all 101 authorised Honda dealerships nationwide. Alternatively, pre-booking can be done online here, or through the HondaTouch app – it can be downloaded from the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
