July 12, 2023 Andrew Cheng

Honda Malaysia’s first small SUV, the Honda WR-V, is set to make its Malaysian debut on 13 July tomorrow. Ahead of its launch, it appears the WR-V is already making its way to showrooms, based on a spy shot of the SUV being transported on a trailer.

The image below was taken by Mohammad Shahiran and subsequently shared by Paultan.org. The WR-V in red looks to be sporting an RS badge on the tailgate, while the white model doesn’t have the same badge with a different set of alloy wheels.

Naturally, Honda Malaysia has not revealed the exact specifications and variants of the WR-V yet, though it did release several key details. The SUV is said to come with a 1.5L DOHC i-VTEC engine that outputs 121PS and 145Nm of torque paired to a CVT, support for the Honda Connect telematics system, 17-inch dual-tone alloy wheels (for the RS model), Honda LaneWatch, and even Honda Sensing.

It’s worth noting that the WR-V will be getting a rather complete Honda Sensing advanced driver assistance systems. These include Lead Car Departure Notification (LCDN), Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS), Forward Collision Warning (FCW), Lane Keep Assist System (LKAS), Road Departure Mitigation (RDM), Lane Departure Warning (LDW), and Auto High Beam (AHB).

We’ll find out more about the Honda WR-V – including its local pricing – once it is launched in Malaysia tomorrow on 13 July. The SUV is also available for booking now at all 101 authorised Honda dealerships nationwide. Alternatively, a pre-booking can be done online here, or through the HondaTouch app – it can be downloaded from the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
