The Nothing Ear 2 made its debut back in March 2023, and at the time, it was only offered in white. Well, you can now get it in black, complete with a “smoky and matte black finish,” as the company puts it. Of course, the wireless earbuds still cost the same at RM599 for the Malaysian market.
Compared to its predecessor, the Ear 2 features a number of improvements, including a custom dynamic driver for better sound quality, new press controls, and longer battery life. The diaphragm of the 11.6mm dynamic driver is made out of a combination of polyurethane (PU) and graphene, which is said to deliver “purer, more powerful” bass while also producing highs that sound clearer and brighter.

Other specifications of the Ear 2 include active noise cancellation (ANC), up to six hours of use on a single charge – can be extended up to 36 hours with the charging case – press controls instead of touch controls, as well as an IP54 rating; IP55 for the charging case.
The Nothing Ear 2 in black will first be available in Malaysia as a limited drop at the Crossover store in Mid Valley Megamall on 15 July for RM599. General local availability of the wireless earbuds’ new colourway is set for slightly later on 22 July. If you’d like to learn more about the Ear 2, read our full review right here.
