To celebrate the launch of Magic: The Gathering’s newest set, The Lord of the Rings: Tales of Middle-earth – which is available for tabletop today – Wizards of the Coast is holding an MTG Welcome Party next weekend here in Malaysia.

Naturally, visitors can try out MTG for themselves at the event. Those who are new to the popular card game can get acquainted with it through a taster session with a LOTR Starter Kit that can be purchased at the event itself. If you’re already familiar with the game, you can duke it out with other players in a Commander game with the four new LOTR Commander Decks.

Participating at the MTG Welcome Party can win you some exclusive MTG LOTR merchandise as well. These include MTG pins, a tote bag, and even a rather nice wooden tray for the new The Ring Tempts You mechanic in the LOTR set.

The MTG Welcome Party will take place from 1 to 2 July next weekend at Paradigm Mall, Petaling Jaya, and you can register right here. It will start from 10AM to 9PM, so there’s plenty of time to play to your heart’s content at the event.
