KLC Nori Spring Rider With Unique Spring Mount System Available July 2023 for $179
June 3, 2023 Andrew Cheng

At Computex 2023, we came across KLC Hobbyists’ Playground at Zalman’s booth, and the brand showcased (arguably) the most exciting keyboard at the trade show, the KLC Nori Spring Rider. Set to go on sale sometime in July 2023, the budget-oriented keyboard offers a unique spring mount system.

While most custom keyboards now feature a gasket mounting system of sorts, the Nori Spring Rider uses a unique “coil spring suspension” system. The result? A soft, comfortable typing feel with a good amount of flex. It also has a rather muted sound profile, which can be attributed to the various foams installed in the keyboard.

The Spring Rider’s chassis is made from plastic, which is not surprising given the keyboard’s affordable nature. It also comes with an aluminium plate, pre-lubed Gateron Yellow Pro V2 switches, along with the popular Linworks double shot ABS keycap set. Yes, it will be fully assembled out of the box.

Other specifications of the Spring Rider include a hotswap PCB to easily swap between different switches – perfect for beginners who want to try out different switches – wireless capability via Bluetooth or a 2.4GHz dongle, and per-key RGB complete with RGB underglow.

According to KLC, the Nori Spring Rider will be available for pre-order sometime in July 2023 through Drop with a $179 price tag, which comes up to about RM820. Several international vendors will open orders for the affordable keyboard too, including Mecha Store for both the Malaysian and Singaporean markets.
