TC Euro Cars (TCEC) just launched the new Renault Zoe EV in Malaysia. Initially previewed on our shores in August last year, the EV promises up to 395km of range on the WLTP cycle; a respectable range for the fully electric hatchback.
Pricing for the Zoe EV starts at RM165,000 for the base Zen R110 model with modest outputs of 110PS and 225Nm of torque. As for the Intens R135 variant, its electric motor offers 135PS and 245Nm of torque for RM179,000; slightly higher than the estimated RM175,000 pricing.
Both models come with a three-year or 100,000km warranty, while the battery is covered under an eight-year or 160,000km warranty with a minimum capacity of 70%.
Both variants of the updated Zoe feature Renault’s new 52kWh Z.E. 50 battery, which is said to be a 25% improvement over the previous generation’s battery without actually increasing its physical size. It can also be charged from 0-100% in three hours with a 22kW charger; nine hours and 30 minutes with a 7.4kW charger instead.
As for range, the Zoe R110 has a quoted range of up to 395km, while the R135 (with its added power) offers slightly less range of up to 386km. Other standard equipment of the new Zoe include full LED headlights with C-shaped DRLs, an Easy Link 7-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support, 16-inch alloy wheels, as well as four airbags.
The higher-end Intens R135 also gets combination leather and cloth upholstery, along with a reverse camera.
According to TCEC, the first shipment of the new Renault Zoe EV has been fully taken up. The next shipment is expected to arrive sometime in June or July 2023, so if you’re keen to get the EV by then, place a booking as soon as you can.
