There’s a new EV in town, and it is now the most affordable vehicle of its kind in Malaysia. Enter the Neta V, which has been brought into Malaysia by Intro Synergy, the sole distributor of Neta cars on our shores. Not only is the EV affordable, early birds can even get a respectable RM10,000 rebate on it.
Here in Malaysia, the Neta V is available in the sole Deluxe variant for RM99,800; just shy of the RM100,000 mark. Coupled with the RM10,000 rebate – though this is limited to the first 100 orders – the EV can be bought for only RM89,800; on-the-road pricing without insurance.
For that kind of money, the Neta V offers a range of up to 380km (following the NEDC standard) out of its 38.54kWh battery. It supports up to 100W DC fast charging too, which can juice up the battery from 30% to 80% in 30 minutes. With a slower 6.6kW AC home charger, it can be charged from empty to full in 8 hours.
Performance wise, the Neta V’s front-mounted electric motor outputs a modest 95PS and 160Nm of torque, allowing it to go from 0-50kmph in 3.9 seconds with a top speed of 120kmph. Safety wise, it features two airbags – yes, only two – ABS, EBD, ESC, and passive cruise control.
The Neta V will be available for viewing at the Malaysia Autoshow 2023 from 4 to 7 May at MAEPS Serdang. The first 100 folks who book the EV online by 10PM on 7 May will get the aforementioned RM10,000 rebate, bringing down the price of the Neta V to RM89,800. Deliveries are expected to begin in Q3 2023.
